Ethenol Production in Uttar Pradesh | #UPethanolMission
Terai Region For Ethanol
- Meerut
- Saharanpur
- Muzaffarnagar
- Bareilly
- Rampur
Uttar Pradesh is currently the largest producer of ethanol in India, and this production is spread across various districts. Here are some of the leading districts in alcohol (ethanol) production in Uttar Pradesh:
- Meerut: This district in western UP is a major hub for sugarcane production, which is a key raw material for ethanol production. Several sugarcane mills in Meerut have set up distilleries to produce ethanol.
- Saharanpur: Similar to Meerut, Saharanpur is another major producer of sugarcane and houses several operational distilleries.
- Muzaffarnagar: This district in western UP is known for its high concentration of sugar mills and distilleries, making it a significant contributor to the state's ethanol production.
- Bareilly: Located in Rohilkhand region, Bareilly is another prominent district for sugarcane cultivation and houses several sugar mills with operational distilleries.
- Rampur: This district in Rohilkhand region is known for its sugarcane production and houses operational sugar mills with distilleries contributing to the state's ethanol production.
It's important to note that due to the ongoing expansion of the ethanol industry in Uttar Pradesh, new distilleries are being established in various other districts, making it difficult to provide an exhaustive list.
is ethanol is bad approach in India?
Most of the sugarcane used for ethanol is cultivated in the Tarai Region of UP, and Bihar. This area is flood-prone, so there is more water than required in that region. Also, this area cultivates rice, which is essential for human beings. Additionally, sugarcane requires less water than rice. So, actually, this approach is better if we think about water conservation. The Tarai region is the poorest in India. India's imports of petroleum, crude oil, and its products were estimated to be over 16 trillion Indian rupees in the financial year 2023. Even if we substitute 10 billion imports and give that money to farmers, these areas will come out of poverty. According to Claro Energy Private Limited, sugarcane requires 1,500–3,000 liters of water to produce one kilogram. Rice requires 3,000–5,000 liters of water to produce one kilogram.
Don't listen to this woman. She knows nothing about agriculture.
